“So basically I had never even thought about it before. My older sister actually sent me the contest and was like “hey girl check this out.” My initial reaction was ahhhhh omg I dont think I could do that!! I’m not sexy!!! But the more I thought about it, I was like hey why not I have nothing to lose. Dan has been photographing me since my first holy communion so I know how he works. Fun, welcoming, approachable, and professional. I knew no matter what, I was going to get some really unique and beautiful pictures with him. I remember changing into my first outfit and thinking to myself, “Oh me oh my, what have I gotten myself into?” Then as soon as he started shooting, I felt all my nerves melt away and was so into creating art with him! It was a really awesome and empowering experience. I think young photographers have so much to learn from Dan and can soak up many valuable things. ESPECIALLY, with him being a male photographer shooting more intimate photos. There’s a way to go about it that makes it silly and fun while also encouraging your subject to be their best bad ass self! Dan is a perfect example of this.”
